Experience Highest Quality Hybrid Flooring from Galaxie Timber

Now that you have invested in the premium hybrid flooring solution, it’s time to follow a few simple steps to retain the quality of your floor. By following this manual, you can retain the aesthetics of the floor and maintain the warranty requirements.

Floor Maintenance

Here, you will find some of the steps that will help maintain your hybrid floor without you getting stressed!

Sweeping and Vacuuming: To keep the floor looking immaculate and beautiful, you should vacuum, sweep and dust your floor daily and weekly. Make sure that during the cleaning process, you remove loose dust, dirt and grit. If you have a high-traffic area, cleaning twice daily can be effective.

Remove Liquid Spills: The third step that you need to do to maintain your hybrid floor is to remove the liquid spills without delay. This way you can prevent stains and reduce the possibility of slips and falls. To mop the floor, you can use a damp cloth and warm water. This will help you remove dirt and stains. Besides, you can use a neutral pH cleaner along with a soft white bristle to get rid of the liquid spills quickly.

What Not to Use: Some of the things that you should not use to clean your hybrid floor include soap, oil, wax or polishes. They can make the stain on the floor surface more prominent.

How to Protect Your Floor From Damage?

To protect the hybrid floor from damage, follow this manual.

  • Use Mats: To keep dirt, grease and water from staining your floor, use mats at the entry and exit points. You should clean the mats regularly. Also, to protect the hybrid floor by Galaxie Timber, do not use rubber or latex mats. They can contribute to the discolouration of your floor.
  • Don’t Use Spiked Heels: Spiked heels can severely damage your hybrid floors and leave pierce marks. So, you should avoid them as much as possible.
  • Avoid Using Steam Mops: Do not use steam mops, as they can affect the texture of your floor.
  • Use Protective Glides For Furniture: To protect your floor from scratch marks, you should place your furniture on protective glides that should be at least 25mm in diameter. This will help minimise indentations or scratching of the floor surface. Also, you should not use narrow glides for chairs since they can cause scratch marks as well. On the other hand, you can use felt pads too, since they offer excellent floor protection and will enable you to move your furniture seamlessly.
  • Avoid Moving Heavy Furniture Directly Across the Floor: You should not move appliances, fixtures or heavy furniture directly across the floor if you want to retain their aesthetics. Rather, use protective boards or furniture movers that enable smooth moving.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight Exposure: To protect your hybrid floor, you should avoid direct sunlight exposure. Otherwise, the surface colour and the lustre can fade. You can use window coverings to guard your floor from sunlight.
  • Clean Castor Wheels: Whether you move equipment, furniture or appliances, if you use castor wheels, you should clean them periodically. This will help you avoid wheel marks on your floor. If they are damaged, you should replace them without delay.
  • Avoid Using Scrapers to Remove Dirt Or Stains: Never use metal or razor scrapers to eliminate stains, dirt or grime from the floor surface. Doing so can damage the protective floor layering.
  • Avoid Direct Contact With Chemicals: Make sure that your floor does not come in contact with any type of chemicals. For instance, keep dyes, bitumen chemicals, and shoe polish away from your floor since these can cause permanent stains and damage the floor surface.
  • Protect from Extreme Temperature and Humidity: Too high temperature, as well as humidity, can damage your floor. So, ensure that the temperature and relative humidity is within range. The ideal temperature can be around 18 to 29𝆩C.
